Top 10 Monsters Movies

June 29th, 2008
Ooh, Monster movies. not a lot of great ones tbh. Most bore me to death.

but there are some really good ones. here is my top 10.

I know that there are a lot of Monsters, so I only chose the ‘big ones’.

10: Them! (1954)

Bigass ants? Surprisingly, it worked. For a monster movie anyway.

09: The Blob (1958)

A pretty entertaining popcorn flick. I even liked the remake =O.

08: Godzila (1954)

Ugh, I hated the remake. but the original was a classic. Impressive for the 50’s.

07: King Kong (2005)

A surprisingly great second remake (first remake was shit). Not as powerful as the original, but still very enjoyable.

06: Aliens (1986)

Okay, maybe they’re not as big as the others on the list. but come on, they’re fucking epic. Aliens FTW.

05: Cloverfield (2008)

Woah, I really expected this movie to suck big time. Another movie about annoying teens? but no, it was actually very tensed and full of surprises.

04: King Kong (1933)

One of the best and most famous black and white movies i’ve seen. King Kong is epic.

03: Alien (1979)

First Alien movie. Fucking epic! Best looking creatures ever.

02: Jurassic Park (1993)

Dinosaurs rule more than your mother. /The End/.

01: The Host aka Gwoemul (2006)

Hollywood, take a note. Korea > Hollywood.
The movie was really all about the characters. I fucking loved every one of them.

A Poem.. “Connect”

June 28th, 2008
The fringes of your syllables

slip into the coma of this room

our pulses escalate

as the surroundings can no longer employ what we want

what we need.

I look into you deep

you feel deeply through me

I ask without asking

You Yes without yesing

I touch,

electricity and heat spiraling up your arms

My fingertips feel you

and quake at suggestions

we throw each other

the harness is our eyes locking

as our lips mesh and frolic along the edges

of who we are.

Taste..

Oh fucking God how good it tasted.

Your answers fucked my questions

the novel wrote itself

as we spread along the floor

melting into the carpet

interlocked

by a poisonous vine

I got sick with you

noone wanted a cure.

We fucked for five hours

and made love for one.

I think about you

when lightning crashes against the glass

longing to electrocute me.

I know you taste me

everytime your lips meet another,

failing to connect like we did.

Busted!!

June 22nd, 2008
So I was going to do a my first blog today and tell you guys all about my weekend cos I had a great one. But I got sidetracked, so I’m only going to tell you what just happened to me.

I had just gotten out of the shower and was blowdrying my hair when the phone rang. The phone’s right next to the computer and so I sat down and checked my emails as I chatted on the phone. My phonecall ended but I stayed on the comp for a while.

The room that the computer’s in is at the front of the house but you can’t see my house from the street so it didn’t bother me that I WAS NAKED until…. the postman came down the driveway to deliver a package!!

I’m not sure how much he saw but as soon as I saw him I jumped out of the chair and ran for cover. Thank God he didn’t ring the doorbell!!

Firstly, sorry I’ve been away for ages.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRETAAAAAA!
-hugs-
Hope your birthday wishes come true. =D

I got my exam results back (or three of them, anyway).

Science: 85
Kinda disappointed, because I skipped out 3 easy questions, which could’ve put me up to a 91, and 2nd in the class, instead of 3rd.

Society + Environment: 75
Just got an A.
Not too bad, but I don’t like S+E anyway.
I actually got more than I should’ve. =D
2 questions in the exam, with 3 parts each that were marked out of 4, 6 and 10 each.
For the 2nd questions, the three parts got marked out of 4, 10 and 10, instead of 4, 6 and 10.
So I got 7 marks for a 6 mark question.
Heehee.

Maths: All Level 6’s.
I got one thing wrong in the whole thing, which is roughly a 99, I think.

English: Still to come.

I got all my subject recommendations for next year (except for English >>) and I got all of them ticked.

I’ve also made a rough draft of my subjects for next year.

Introductory Calculus
Geometry + Trigonometry
Physics
Chemistry
Human Biology
English
Reserves
Aspects of Tourism (Non-uni bound)

Those are the subjects I’ll be doing for the next 2 years.

My blogs are all about school these days. -sigh-

Birthday in 9 days.

Top 10 Zombie Movies

June 19th, 2008

Like my Vampire and Werewolf lists, there aren’t exactly a lot of truly great zombie movies.

But unlike the other two, there are definitely a lot less BAD ones.
Zombie movies are usually gory, and fun. But they can also be very cheesy (special-effects wise) and entirely flat.

But most zombies are just crazy fun. For horror fans, that is.

Must. Eat. Brains.

10: Evil Dead (1981)

The first installment of the best Zombie-trilogy. It’s mostly just a laugh-out-loud classic gorefest.

09: The Return of the Living Dead (1985)

Another fun 80’s Zombie-flick. Who doesn’t love Tarman?.

08: Night of the Living Dead (1968)

As old as it is. There’s something so great about this movie, no wonder people still call it ‘the best zombie film of all time’. I love it.

07: Re-Animator (1985)

The reason why this movie worked so well was because of the evil doctor. One of the best ‘baddies’ evah. The witty dialog and gory fun made it all the more entertaining.

06: Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn (1987)

My favorite of Evil Dead. A classic tale of bloodshed.

=

05: 28 Weeks Later (2007)

I was afraid it was just going to be another bland sequel. But I loved it almost as much at the first part. I can’t wait for 28 Months Later. If it’s as good, it will be my new favorite Horror-trilogy.

04: Day of the Dead (1985)

I’m probably the only person who prefers Day over the other Romero films. It was fookin’ epic!.

03: Braindead (1992)

An extremely entertaining violent gorefest. Body parts flying all over the place. What’s not to love?.

02: 28 Days Later (2002)

An intense, beautifully shot, realistic ‘zombie-flick’ where you actually want to see the main characters survive. A must.

01: Planet Terror (2007)

A sexy tale of terror. It’s just epic. One of my favorite horror films of all time. Go watch it.

True Blood 1×01

June 16th, 2008
I just watched it, and I loved it.

It’s like Alan Ball’s other projects. It’s about the characters.
There are a few things I didn’t like
*too much sex (Sex is good unless it gets distracting)
*vampire sex was silly
*the goddamn mind reading.

But the quirky dialog, and extremely entertaining characters completely made up for it.
The cast is also very strong, but I didn’t expect any less (Okay, I was afraid because I barely know ANY of them) but they didn’t only turn out to be eye-candy but also talented.

My first impressions of the main characters:
Anna Paquin … Sookie Stackhouse
Interesting main character. Anna did a good job. I wish she didn’t have to go blonde though. But at least she’s not annoying as Buffy summers.

Stephen Moyer … Bill Compton
To be honest, he’s my least favorite. Tall, dark and handsome. clichéd vampire with no sense of humor. Angel was better.

Ryan Kwanten … Jason Stackhouse
The pretty boy. He’s really the asshole-character but I like him. I see potential.

Sam Trammell … Sam Merlotte
Sookie’s human love interest? I don’t really care for him. I hope there won’t be a Sookie/Bill/Sam triangle X_X.

Brook Kerr … Tara Thornton
The STAR. She cracked me up every time she came on screen. I love angry black bitches.

There were a LOT more characters. My favorite one was the Gay Black Dude. What was his name?
He and Tara would make a great team.
Most of the rest didn’t do much. I like Sookie’s grandma and the hot chick at the bar. Whazername?
The two bad guys didn’t do much for me unfortunately. Especially the female. But they might just turn out cool. We’ll see.

Some screencaps:

Final verdict: Very strong pilot, I can’t wait to see the missing scenes.

Like said before, i’m very excited. It might just be my new best friend.

Top 10 Werewolf Movies

June 16th, 2008
Although I’ve only seen about 20 Werewolf movies, making a selection out of those was hard (most of them were just teh suck). But I tried.

I only truly TRULY love three of these. but they’re all great fun if you’re into Werewolf flicks.

If I could add tv shows, I would add Angel’s ‘Unleashed’ and Buffy’s ‘Phases’ & ‘Wild AT Heart’ to the list.

10: Romasanta (2004)

Although it’s merely just a good-looking, but rather empty Werewolf flick. It’s enjoyable and definitely worth watching.

09: An American Werewolf In Paris (1998)

A lot of people hate on it. But I find it a laugh despite the lame CGI Wolfs. I actually saw it before the original and enjoyed it a bunch.

08: Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning (2004)

The third installment of, probably, my favorite Horror trilogy of all time. It’s not as good as the first two, but still very pretty looking.

07: The Howling (1981)

The first Werewolf film I ever saw. It’s a bit lame in parts but still a true classic. The sequels were all shit tho.

06: The Wolfman (1941)

Maybe a little dated, but it’s what many Werewolf films failed at being. The remake looks good (for a change).

05: Ginger Snaps: Unleashed (2004)

Gorier, scarier, darker and better than the first film. But not as enjoyable. Still a great werewolf film.

04: Dog Soldiers (2002)

This movie had a little bit of everything. An absolute must.

03: The Company of Wolves (1984)

Beautiful, sexy, dark fairy tale with a werewolf twist. I love it.

02: Ginger Snaps (2000)

The one that started it all. What makes the movie so great are the characters and the sister bond. Truly brilliant Werewolf cult flick.

01: An American Werewolf in London (1981)

‘A naked American man stole my Balloons’.
No other Werewolf movie can top this. And i’m sure none ever will.
